global warming
Global warming is a huge problem facing today's society. Global warming is the increase in the earth’s average temperature since the mid twentieth century. Greenhouse gasses are responsible for the increase in temperature. In the past century the earth has warmed .32 degrees Fahrenheit. The negative impact of global warming includes melting ice glaciers in the arctic region. Resulting in the penguins and polar bears becoming homeless. It will also create more deserts and shrink the Amazon rain forest. The rain forest provides us with oxygen, and is a home to many exotic animals. Global warming will also increase the intensity of weather events, like hurricanes and tornadoes. Global warming will continue to worsen unless we make some changes. They don't necessarily need to be huge, just little things in your daily life. Like re-filling a water bottle, recycling it when you’re done, or not using a plastic bottle at all. You can car pool, take the bus, or bike! And even though some people don't believe global warming is real, these adjustments can make you live a healthier life. Of course the best way to help the earth is to plant a tree. Trees suck up all the carbon dioxide in the air and produce oxygen for us. 20 Nobel Peace prize scientists declared that if the carbon emissions don’t start declining in the next six years we will face major problems. After 2015 the damage we have done will be irreversible. Global warming is already killing an estimated 300,000 people a year. That number will keep rising until we make some changes, small or big, they all help. So plant a tree, take the bus, or recycle, to help save our planet before it’s too late.
